Vegan Sugar Means NO Bone Char!

Well, it took me some time, but after searching long and hard, I’ve found a sugar suitable for vegans: Florida Crystals.

According to their web site, their sugar is “certified kosher“, “gluten free” and “suitable for vegans and vegetarians.” That means no animal bone char. No animal byproduct is used in the manufacturing of this sugar.

Don’t believe me? Check out the web site for yourself: Florida Crystals. This sugar is fantastic and definitely makes my oatmeal taste ten times more delicious.

  1. Wait, what about “Sugar in the Raw,” please don’t tell me that isn’t vegan?

  2. Don’t worry. Sugar in the Raw is vegan from what I’ve researched.

My only issue with it is that I prepare and cook all of my food myself, so using Sugar in the Raw for baking, canning, oatmeal, granola bars…or anything for that matter can be really costly with that particular sugar.

Florida Crystals is essentially the same thing. They use a little molasses to create a bit of a brown sugar texture. The great thing is that it’s about the same price as regular sugar!

Hope this puts your fears to rest.
